- A couple of years back I started building a suspension in Imagine mostly
- because I thought doing the cables would be an interesting exercise. Once
- that was done I kind of lost interest for a while and left it half
- finished.
- [Somewhere in the interim I got contacted by Patrick Henz who asked if I
- had any interesting objects to share, so I let him play with my half
- finished bridge. You can see the result (with his colouring) in pix/henz as
- fommisc01.jpg.]
- Recently (Spring 2002) I started working on it again, mostly adding side
- cables. (They are not there in Patrick's version, which is probably why he
- chose to focus on the middle of the bridge... ;-))
- This is just a test render I made after finishing the cables. It is called
- "Albatross" simply because this is a kind of twisted bird's eye view of the
- bridge, so I thought of a big bird. Apologies to any collectors of bird
- pictures who got misled, but that's what the short description is for!
- Anyway, it could also be seen as a reference to the unpainted state of the
- object (Albus is Latin for white). Guess I'll start on the colouring and
- texturing next. Anyone happen to have a good asphalt texture lying around?
